We all live in a crowded world populated by countless images. Thus, we have developed an “immunity” to them in public spaces as they all compete for our attention, trying to sell something. Please try envisioning an image in the setting you got used to, taking you momentarily to a different world of reflections and transcendence. Giving you a mental break to think about other aspects of your life. In the work-spaces, these momentary pauses are invaluable as they restore our brains' cognitive capabilities.
